Please he’s not going to change anything. He may be our first president who’s not caucasian but he’s cut from the same cloth.

If Obama does a good enough job getting the nation out of this financial crisis and cleaning up the war in Iraq; and if Congress still has a strong Democratic majority after all that; then I think that Obama will be able to change the marijuana laws in America federally. The problem has historically been when a Democrat has had the balls to put his reputation and career on the line to put a bill before Congress the vast majority of Republicans all vote no on it because of corporate interests.

Wow, I love how this guy really stands up for what he believes in.

So, you’re beating somebody with a baseball bat, they beg you to stop, and you say “hmmm, maybe I’m wasting my time beating this guy with this bat. There are other people I need to go beat.”

No recognition of the violation of their fundamental rights to their own health decisions.

    Total cop out.

Finally, a straight answer from someone instead of “We’ll need to see more research.”

true but we wouldnt be spending so much money putting people in jail/prison for using a substance that is safer than anything else out there.

Wow! A view I actually share with president-elect. God help our nation make it through his presidency without irrecoverable damage.

its not the color of skin that matters.
It’s the color of the heart and soul.
I believe the color of Obama’s heart and soul are both rainbows. Satisfying us all.
And if your not satisfied, then you have a black heart and a black soul

its because many of them are collecting money from the companies that lobby againsts medical cannabis so they can make money dealing the hard stuff. so sorry for your situation. in free, compassionate society it would not be and issue. hopefully obama will make good on his words for your sake and for the sake of anyone in a similar situation.

i myself also use medical marijuana for osteoarthritis in my hip because of a gun shot wound that shattered my ball joint in my femur i get 120 10/500 vicodin and 90 soma a month the medication makes me itch and is far more potent why cant i get marijuana legally in texas close minded republicans i guess, they would rather see me addicted to narcotics than smoking marijuana whos the real criminal?

huh you’d think obama would be a little more sure of himself to talk about marijuana. I guess he knew to play it safe. but that ear piece…man that was obvious.

Yeah,, apparently someone already commented that but taxes will ultimately make them like cigarettes in most of the country, which is very expensive and still looked at as a taboo habit. I can see it being both good and bad, because yes it could make pot cheaper by your view and the surge of tax revenue is good for the country, and the regulation will help keep pot clean of other substances and out of the hands of drug dealers who may be selling other more harmful substances.. decriminalize!

The point was not that we didn’t notice that he put it in, but that it doesn’t mean anything.

I also like Ron Paul, but how is that you think Obama just said what people wanted to hear to get elected and Ron Paul wasn’t doing the same?

Personally, I believe neither was doing it and they’re very different from anyone we’ve had as president before. Obama’s gonna do great.
